It’s always been a dream of mine to have a fairy tale wedding. What little girl didn’t want the big wedding and marry her prince? As I got older the dream started to fade away. The dream was getting smaller. I still wanted the fairy tale wedding, but not as extravagant. Gone were the white horses and the white carriage taking me to the church. Gone was the wedding dress with the extremely long train, a huge tiara, and gone was the wedding cake that stood 8 feet tall. What is the dream now?
The dream now is ride to the church in a white classic car. I don’t wait the ball gown with the long train. I would settle for something that was flattering and fits well. The tiara, well, I’d still wear one, but not as big as in my dreams, and the wedding cake, I don’t need anything 8 feet tall. Maybe 2 feet. Hahaha! I think I could get a good deal with the cake. I know a few cake makers.
I’ve been to several weddings, a couple of them were themed weddings. I’ve been to a wedding that was set up to look like a forest and the bridal party dressed as fairies. Yep, fairies. The women wore wings. The bride had big white wings on her back. The little flower girls were dressed as water sprites. It was a different kind of wedding. Another wedding I went to, the bridal party dressed in Halloween costumes. You guessed it, they got married on Halloween. The bride wore a beautiful black dress. This was when black wedding dresses weren’t really known.
If the day comes up for me to walk down the aisle, I know that there will be some things in the wedding like in my dreams, but I’ll keep that a secret for now. Don’t want to jinx it.
