Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” set to hit theaters next summer.

Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” is set to be released next summer. If it’s like any of the other Christopher Nolan movies, (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises and Inception to name a few) it’ll certainly be worth watching.

The film follows allied soldiers from Belgium, England, Canada and France who are surrounded by German soldiers and are forced to evacuate during one of the worst battles in World War 2. For more in the film check out the “Dunkirk” IMDB page by clicking here.

From the write up on variety…“Dunkirk” stars Oscar-winner Mark Rylance, stage legend Kenneth Branagh, pop sensation Harry Styles, as well as Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy, both of whom worked on Nolan’s “Dark Knight” films and “Inception.”

“Dunkirk” hits theaters on July 21, 2017, when it will face off against Luc Besson’s science-fiction adventure, “Valerian and the Lost City of Planets.”

I love World War 2 movies. I’m constantly blown away at all of the amazing side missions that took place during the war. Do you recall ever hearing the story about the “Monuments Men?” For the life of me, I can’t ever recall a discussion in Mr. Garcia’s American History class on the mission that these art lovers were asked to do. If you’re not familiar with the story, several humanities based scholars set out during World War 2 to retrieve stolen art from the Nazi’s. It’s an awesome movie that I would recommend you watching if you haven’t seen it before. What about that new “Hacksaw Ridge” film? I can’t recall ever discussing the story about the man in World War 2 who refused to equip himself with weapon and still manages to save lives. I love that Hollywood is taking something as significant as World War 2 and telling us stories that we may never have heard about before.

They say this was the greatest generation of all time. The older I get, the more I agree with that statement.

Take a look at the trailer, this one looks like it might be worth watching. Enjoy!
