Crowd saves girl who falls from amusement park ride.

A teenage girl avoided a serious injury Saturday evening when a crowd gathered to catch her before she plunged about 25 feet down from a ride at Six Flags Great Escape in Lake George, New York.

The 14-year-old girl was flown by helicopter to the hospital where she was in stable condition. TheĀ 47-year-old man who told her it was O.K. to let go was also hospitalized for a back injury he suffered when he tried to catch the girl.
