George Strait Named 2017 Texan Of The Year

Nashville

George Strait is still king and will end 2017 with another prestigious award, Texan of the Year. The Texas Legislative Conference tapped Strait for the honor for his work and support of the Hurricane Harvey relief.

In a statement from the conference chairman, Doug Miller, he said, “He put his well-earned reputation on the line and asked his fellow Texans to step up, but all Americans. And they have.”

Strait headlined the September 12th all-star “Hand In Hand: Texas” benefit concert which raised more than 50 million dollars for hurricane relief.

The “King of Country Music” will be honored with a reception March 22, 2018.
