Labrador Retriever Most Popular Dog for Twenty-Sixth Consecutive Year

Dog

No surprise here! The American Kennel Club has released their list of the most popular dog breeds of last year and the Labrador Retriever took the title for their 26th straight year.

The AKC said it’s no surprise the Labs won considering how they¬†excel at sports, make great friends, and have been known to save lives while acting as service dogs. And of course, they’re pretty dang cute. The Lab beat out the German Shepherd and Golden Retriever, which took second and third.

Also mentioned was the Rottweiler, which is a breed the AKC says has been on the rise for the better part of the last decade, and landed at number eight for last year.
