Not A Good Monday

Man, yesterday was not a good Monday. Getting up this morning, I see a news bulletin on my phone that said 50 people were killed at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas. I read the story and automatically prayed for the people who lost their lives, their families, and those who were injured.

An old classmate of mine happened to be there in Vegas, right across the street, at the MGM, watching a show there when all was stopped and they were put in lock-down.

As I write this blog now, the death toll has risen to 59. No one knows why the shooter did it. His brother was on TV, completely baffled to why his older brother would carry out such an evil doing. We may never no why.

Not only did all those innocent concert-goers lose their lives, but a music icon also died today. Tom Petty from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers was found on the floor of his Malibu home last night unresponsive. He went into cardiac arrest and was put on life support. With no brain activity today, they turned off the life support. He was 66 years old.

When you get home tonight, or any night, hug your family. Call them if they don’t live with you, talk to them and listen to what they say. Call a friend and tell them how much they mean to you. Tell them how much you love them. We’re not guaranteed tomorrow.
