This week we’ll be giving thanks. Some of the things I’m thankful for I’m thankful that my little sister Lani is still around. Two years ago she was going in for what should have been a simple procedure. Turns out it wasn’t so simple. She recovered and will be making mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving. You’ll have to ask her about that story. I’m Thankful for my girlfriend and her kids and the grand kids. Kids call your mom just to talk and not just when you need something. (When your parents are gone you’ll miss the chance to talk). I’m thankful for my dogs, they make me smile. Pets have unconditional love. It doesn’t matter how old you are, what you weigh or the color of your skin. People could take a lesson from pets. I’m thankful for my co-workers. I see these people more than family except for Lani, she is one of my co-workers so I get to see my sister almost every day. I’m Thankful for my friends, I can lean on them when I need them and vice versa. I’m thankful when my mom was alive I could call her and ask how to cook. Otherwise I would be eating terrible TV dinners and guys women are impressed when you can cook. I’m thankful for a hot shower in the morning without someone flushing the toilet. I’m not a coffee drinker and a shower is all I need to get me going. I’m thankful when my favorite teams win and I’m not in a terrible mood. So far this football season I’m in a great mood. I wish my dad was here to see what’s happening with the Dallas Cowboys. We always watched the Cowboys on Thanksgiving until my mom said the food was ready. We would have to crank up the TV so we could hear what was going on in the game. We’d eat as fast as possible so we could get back to the game. I’m thankful for all the time we spent together bowling and fishing. I miss fishing. I’m thankful for being an American. I can’t imagine being born somewhere else and not having the freedoms we have in the United States. I’m thankful for the men and women like my dad that served or are serving around the world allowing me do do what I do. I’m thankful for the time in the near future that my friends and I win the Power Ball. When we do you can hit me up for your favorite beverage. I’m thankful for the money I find in my pocket after I do the laundry. Every little bit helps. I’m thankful for the people that listen to KGNC FM everyday. Without you I wouldn’t get to do what I love to day every day and hopefully that is put a smile on your face. I’m sure there are some things that I haven’t listed yet that I’m thankful for. Have a great Thanksgiving.
