Private construction investments could mean big bucks for the city.
The Amarillo Economic Development Corporation voted for two companies, a meatpacking plant, and a mineral processor,to move to the city, but the city council will have the final say.
Producers Owned Beef would be built on east I-40 with a promise of 5-thousand -dollars for every job created, while the rare earth processor would be near Rick Husband International Airport for a promise of 1-thousand dollars per job.
The city would get the 2-billion dollars in the private construction investments if the deals by the AEDC can be finalized and the council and the companies will have the final word of approval.
