With this being the first day of summer (June 21), take extra care when taking your pet for a walk.
A dog named Olaf was being walked when his owner noticed that Olaf had severe burns on his paw pads. Olaf was taken to a vet. His owner said the pup never whimpered or whined even with the injuries. The injuries were so severe that his paw pads were completely gone, exposing raw muscle.
The hospital carefully wrapped his paws in blue bandages so they can heal. They say that pets may show physical signs of pain by licking their feet, and if you think your pet gets burned– seek professional help to avoid possible infection.
A good rule of thumb is if the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your dog’s pads.
