Charley Pride Passes at 86 From Covid Complications!

Charley Pride, Country’s First Black Superstar has died from complications of Covid-19 at the age of 86. Pride was described as the first black superstar of country music, having 19 of his singles hit the top of the charts throughout the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. Along with winning three Grammys, Pride was recently honored with the lifetime achievement award at last month’s Country Music Awards.
Tributes have been pouring in from his country music peers. Charley Pride will always be a legend in Country music,”
Reba McEntire wrote on Twitter. “He will truly be missed but will always be remembered for his great music, wonderful personality, and his big heart.”
