The Dallas Cowboys got their second win of the season with yesterday’s 31-21 win over the Washington Redskins. So far this season Dak Prescott has 51-62 passes with 7 touchdowns and one interception. That interception came when Prescott was scrambling and threw the behind Randall Cobb. The ball was tipped into the air and was picked off by Montae Nicholson.
I was a little skeptical when the Cowboys promoted Kellen Moore to Offensive Coordinator. I’m not anymore. For one thing I have know idea what the Cowboys will call on the next play anymore. The past several years when Scott Linehan was calling the plays I knew what the next play would be. We rarely saw Prescott throw the deep ball. The Cowboys have had long drives that have ended in touchdowns. 7 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns and only one field goal after a touchdown was called back after a penalty.
How many times the past years the Cowboys were scoring a bunch of field goals and couldn’t put teams away?
I have to say Prescott hasn’t had happy feet much this season. He had happy feet on the interception play. Had he thrown it in front of Cobb it could have gone for a score. Could it be the return of center Travis Frederick or quarterback coach Jon Kitna telling him to keep his feet straight?
I’m also happy that Prescott has been using his feet in a good way by running when it’s available. He has the longest run by a Cowboy this season at 42 yards. It was only the second game of the season but things are looking up.
Zeke Elliott had a quiet 111 yards on 23 carries.
As far as my fantasy football goes I have Michael Gallup because I think he’s going to have a breakout year. He had surgery on his knee today and is out 2-4 weeks.
