There’s a lot of people who don’t like to even listen to one Christmas song before Thanksgiving. But, did you know that decorating for Christmas is actually good for you?
A new study has found that decorating your home for Christmas can make you a happier person. The study found that decorating for Christmas can trigger pleasant childhood memories and makes people feel more social. Psychotherapist Amy Morin says, “When you’re putting up decorations, you’re thinking of happier times, times with family and friends and family traditions you engaged in. Thinking of those happy memories stirs up happy feelings.”
I know decorating for Christmas always makes me feel good. Morin, added, “that a dose of holiday nostalgia also encourages people to give and do good, which is a mood enhancer.”
I know that I’ll probably start decorating for Christmas within the next week. I do it every year, because I love Christmas!! Like the song says, “It’s most wonderful time of the year.”
When do you start to decorate for Christmas?
