Edwards to retire

I saw this earlier today while I was watching sports on ESPN. Carl Edwards will announce his retirement tomorrow from NASCAR. Edwards is only 37 years old and basically calling it quits in his prime. Last season he was ready to win the championship when he tried to block Joey Logano causing a wreck to knock him out of contention at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Edwards wound up finishing fourth last season. In 13 years of racing Edwards won 28 races in 445 starts. Edwards would do his flip race each race that he won. Edwards finished second in the final standings in racing’s top series in 2008 & 2011. He finished third in 2005, fourth in 2010 and fifth in 2015. I think if he kept racing he would probably win a championship before too long. Why is Edwards retiring? We may find out Wednesday when he makes it official. NASCAR fans will definitely miss Carl Edwards.
