Now that the Super Bowl has come and gone and the NFL season is officially over, football fans have nothing left to do except sing the blues and wait for next season, right? Wrong.
The NFL season may be over, but there’s more professional football on the way. The rebooted XFL gets started this weekend with eight new team names to familiarize yourself with.
The first game is Saturday at 2 p.m. (ET) when the Seattle Dragons visit the D.C. Defenders. That will be followed by the Los Angeles Wildcats and the Houston Roughnecks at 5 p.m. (ET).
On Sunday, the Tampa Bay Vipers and New York Guardians will face off at 2 p.m. (ET), followed by the St. Louis BattleHawks and the Dallas Renegades at 5 p.m. (ET).
There are 416 players in the league, many of whom have names that NFL fans will recognize. (Sporting News)
