Garth Adds Another Trophy to The Shelf!

Garth Brooks Will Be the First Country Artist to Receive Billboard’s ICON Award. 

He joins Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder, Cher, Prince, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, and Mariah Carey who have all received the prestigious award.

Garth has won 19 Billboard awards during the course of his career. Billboard says the ICON award honors, the cultural impact of an artist whose extraordinary talent as a creator, writer and entertainer has stood the test of time and that definitely describes the Crown Prince of Country music Garth Brooks

The Billboard awards air tonight, Wednesday, October 14th at 8:00 pm on NBC.

Who else in country music is deserving of receiving the ICON award in the future? 

I am thinking that George Strait belongs in that distinguished crowd too, Am I right?
