According to a new survey by OnePoll on behalf of Quest Nutrition almost all of us will give in to food cravings during the holidays. The survey showed 97 percent of us give in to those cravings at least once during the holiday season. A fourth of us will give in every time an opportunity shows up. More than half of us try our best not to give in to temptation. On average that last about 17 minutes. Close to 90 percent of us experience more food cravings over the holidays than any other time of year and 75 percent of us feel guilty because of it.
The sweet foods that we crave the most during the holidays include chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin pie, brownies, apple pie, ice cream, sugar cookies, cupcakes, Snickerdoodle cookies, pecan pie, and red velvet cake. I can see that.
Food on the most tempting savory list include most of my favorite food period. Mashed potatoes, turkey, stuffing, rolls, macaroni and cheese, ham, sweet potatoes or candied yams, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, creamed corn and brisket.
Here’s to putting on some holiday weight and feeling guilty about it for…who am I kidding I’ve never had to worry about it.
