We are getting into hot car season. I like seeing this new legislation called the Hot Cars Act. It’s a tool that would remind us to check on kids in the backseat. The law would require all new cars to be equipped with an alert system. It’s almost like a no-brainer. Why haven’t vehicles been equipped with the alert system already. Cars already warn us to buckles up, our lights are on, a door is ajar, check the engine, change the oil and many others. Why not one that could save a life from someone that can’t let you know they’re there? I can’t imagine the pain of a parent that forgot to drop off their child at daycare only to find them in a hot car later.
