HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF IF YOU’RE BUYING A WORK POOL LOTTO TICKET

THE POWERBALL IS AT 750 MILLION

Imagine winning the Powerball !! Dream come true right?

Now imagine pitching in for that lotto ticket only to find out that the person who volunteered to buy it, took the money and ran.

Well it’s what’s happening to a guy from Canada. He’s getting sued after he and 3 friends pitched in on a work lotto pool.  He was the one in charge of collecting the money and buying the ticket,so he did and it turns out that they won 1 million dollars and instead of splitting it 4 ways he decided to take the money and run.

So now his friends have decided to sue him for their part of the money.  Here’s the thing, they have no written proof that they pitched in for the ticket or that they had sent him on their behalf to buy the ticket.  It was all just a verbal agreement.

So in case you are thinking of pitching in for the Powerball with buddies at work here’s 2 things you MUST do

  1. Send and email to the person collecting the money and in charge of buying the ticket acknowledging that you pitched in ___amount and Thank them for buying the ticket on your behalf
  2. Once the ticket is bought snap a picture so you have proof of the numbers and of the ticket itself in case that person has bought multiple tickets and tries to pass off their personal ticket as the winning one.

Good Luck

And if I’m not at work on Wednesday …y’all know why
