I hope Texas Governor Greg Abbott signs a new bill that will allow kids to run a lemonade stand without paying fees or being required to get a license or permit. The final bill says kids only need the permission of a single neighborhood resident to set up a stand. This comes after a conference committee took out a Senate provision that would have let homeowners’ associations limit stands only to children who live in the neighborhood. That way a child could set up a stand in front of a relatives house if they wanted to do so.
Imagine being told as a child growing up you couldn’t make money with a lemonade stand or you couldn’t mow lawns for some extra cash.
