On Saturday, Carrie Underwood bought new stage curtains for the Checotah High School Event Center in her hometown. The mayor of Checotah says Carrie’s donated at least half-a-million dollars to the town over the years, including a new playground, animal shelter, school uniforms, equipment, and musical instruments. Checotah has a population of 3,225 (bigger than a lot of towns around here).

A woman named Ruth was shopping in New Jersey when she saw a man who she thought was having trouble paying for his purchase.
It turns out that guy was Keith Urban! Ruth said he was very gracious and thanked her for the gesture, and made sure to get a couple pictures with her before they parted ways. Check out Patrick’s blog for more on that.

Speaking of Keith Urban, he’ll be Blake Shelton’s advisor for the battle rounds of The Voice next season. Thomas Rhett will do the same for Kelly Clarkson’s team. CeeLo Green will advise Adam Levine’s team, and Halsey will for Jennifer Hudson’s team. Season 15 is set to premier on September 24th.
