It looks like every time you turn around, people are getting the newest trend. Now, I’m not saying a the smartwatch is the latest trend because it has been out for a while. But, there is something for your smartphone that could potentially be the next big trend and help you at work too.
When you sit at your desk at work, do you find yourself slouching from time to time? Slouching is a very bad habit. We all do it.
Now, some German scientists are developing a smartwatch that will alert the wearer every time they slouch. The user would wear sensors under their clothes and inside their shoes that can monitor angular velocity, which is the rate of change of angular position of a rotating body. It would then compare that data to other body data and determine if the person was slouching. The project is still in the early phases of development, but the hope is it could one day benefit millions of people by helping prevent lower back pain.
I’m not to sure I want to wear sensors or wires under my clothes just to tell me to stop slouching. Would you do it? Couldn’t there be another way to save our backs?
