Concert Industry Lost $30 Billion In 2020, No industry was harder-hit during the pandemic than live entertainment – and the damage might be even worse than we thought.

According to Pollstar, the live event industry lost over $30 billion – that’s billion with a ‘B’ – in revenues in 2020. That factors in not only lost ticket sales but “concessions, merch, transportation, restaurants, hotels, and other economic activity tied to the live events.” Promoters are hoping that vaccinations and better safety protocols will allow live shows to return in 2021.
