Is it time to panic. I think not the Dallas Cowboys lost their first game of the season. All the talking heads this morning are now saying the Cowboys are horrible because they lost to the New Orleans Saints last night 12-10. First off I hate having to wait for Sunday night. Sorry Carrie Underwood. When the Cowboys play the night game on Sunday or on Monday night. I don’t have anything to do except look at my computer screen to see how my fantasy football team is doing. The Cowboys have a better record than me. I’m 2-2. The Cowboys fell to 3-1. If the keep the same record in each quarter of the season they’ll wind up 12-4. Not bad, that would mean a playoff spot and probably a first round bye. Then Zeke Elliott could go to Cabo to train during his time off right. He doesn’t want to do that just ask Tony Romo and Jason Witten.
In my humble opinion the Cowboys were reading the headlines about how good they were and Drew Brees was not going to play. The Cowboys were a 2.5 point favorite at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Players are only human and Dallas probably didn’t take this game seriously the week before hosting the Green Bay Packers at A T & T Stadium.
When you hold an opponent to 12 points in the NFL you should win the game. The Cowboys were averaging a little over 30 points a game. The Saints defense was just as stingy as Dallas’ giving up 10 points.
The Saints held Zeke and the rest of the Cowboys to 45 yards rushing. His elbow was down on the fumble play but they’re not going to reverse that in the dome. Witten also had a lost fumble and Amari Cooper was called for offensive pass interference twice.
The next four opponents for Dallas will be Green Bay, the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants after a bye.
