David Ostrom of Paola, Kansas is looking for the ultimate battle from his ex-wife Bridgette. He has asked the courts to give him 12 weeks to allow him to source or forge katana and wakizashi swords so he can have a duel with the ex. Ostrom says he was inspired by a 2016 case in which New York Supreme Court Justice Philip Minardo admitted that duels had not been banned or restricted.

Ostrom says he will give Bridgette the choice of an attorney or a stand in fighter to duel him.

Bridgette’s attorney has asked the court to order Ostrom undergo psychological treatment. Ostrom says he doesn’t have any mental issues.
