I hope you wore your red today. Today is National Go Red For Women Day. 80 is a big number today. Every 80 seconds heart disease kills about one woman in the U.S. Health experts say 80 percent of heart issues are preventable with proper and timely action. More often than not heart disease is associated with men. In fact, cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women. Nearly 500,000 American women die from heart disease and stroke every year. Contrary to popular myths, women are also more likely to suffer from a stroke. If you didn’t wear red today when you head out tonight make sure you wear red. Use the hashtag #WearRedDay.
Thank God that my little sister is still around cancer meds messed up her heart and so did a doctor’s mishap. Today I’m wearing red for Lani.
