The worst kept secret in Dallas could be about Kellen Moore. Tuesday at bowling we were talking about who could be the Cowboys next offensive coordinator. Moore’s name was mentioned and how he has a huge offensive IQ. It seems the current trend in the NFL is going to young coordinators and head coaches. Dak Prescott called Moore a “genius phenom.” I certainly hope so. I hope I can sit in front of my TV next football season and NOT know what play is coming up next.
A couple of weeks ago the Cowboys parted ways with former offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. Can you say predictable? A big deal is made out of quarterbacks in the NFL being able to pass from the pocket. Dak took a lot of sacks this season trying to pass from the pocket. I can’t tell you how many times I yelled “throw the ball” or “Run!” I know you’ve seen it in my blogs.
Today the Cowboys officially name Moore the offensive coordinator and formally announced Jon Kitna as new quarterbacks coach. I hope this works out. Moore played for Linehan for two seasons in Detroit before joining the Cowboys in 2015. Moore is from a football family and as mentioned before has is a creative offensive “genius phenom.”
Kitna played for the Cowboys twice in his career mainly as a backup to Tony Romo. Earlier this year he was named offensive coordinator for the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football.
the Alliance of American Football begins play on Saturday February 9th. Former Cowboys fullback Daryl Johnston is the General Manager of the team in San Antonio.
Dustin Vaughan formerly from West Texas A&M is the team’s starting quarterback. How cool is that?
