A man became irate after having his vehicle repossessed Saturday and threatened an employee and a 7 year old child. APD was called to Pancho Auto Sales located at 2610 South Mirror. 33 year old Billy Joe David Rodriguez, had gone to the car lot after his vehicle was repossessed and became argumentative then pulled out a 5 inch pocket knife and began threatening the employee and child. Rodriguez was booked into Potter County.
A head on collision took the life of 64 year old William Keller around 2:30 Sunday afternoon.
26 year old Dennise Chavez of Midland was driving northbound on US 83 about 2 miles north of Shamrock when she crossed the southbound lane and hit Keller head on. He was pronounced dead at the scene and Chavez taken to the hospital without injuries. DPS says she had been passing another car northbound, had headphones on, and was distracted at the time of the crash.
Potter County Deputies were called out to the 1400 block of Starbright early Sunday morning on a disorderly conduct call.
The suspect, Travis Howard, had several outstanding warrants. The search turned into a manhunt when he ran into an open pasture north of Givens Road. APD K-9 came out to help in the search as well as Game Wardens, DPS, and the Potter County Fire Chief. When they finally found Howard, he was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion. He was then booked into the Potter County Correction Center.
