Heads Up Space Nerds, The Leonid Meteor Shower Starts Friday

Coming Attraction: The Leonid Meteor Shower There’s about to be a spectacular show high in the sky.

The Leonid meteor shower is coming up, bringing with it a dazzling display of shooting stars. It happens when the Earth passes through the trail of dust shed from the comet Tempel-Tuttle.

Scientists say you can catch the Leonids starting Friday through the end of November, with a peak in the late evening of November 16.

What’s the coolest “star-gazing” event you’ve seen?

A Space Shuttle launch!
