Alex Trebek Planned His ‘Jeopardy!’ Exit Speech

Alex Trebek sat down with Michael Strahan back in January and told Michael that he had already planned and rehearsed his final goodbyes.

Alex said he only needs 30 seconds at the end of the show to say his goodbyes, and that he’ll tell people not to ask who’s replacing him. Alex concluded with, “but I’m sure if you give them the same love and attention and respect that you have shown me, then they will be a success and the show will continue being a success.”

Although Trebek passed away, fans will still get to enjoy new episodes of Jeopardy in which he is the host, that were taped on October 29. The final episode of those recordings will air on Christmas day. So far, there’s been no talk of who will replace the legendary host. Sony said in a statement that the future of Jeopardy is still up in the air.

I know I’ll certainly be glued to the TV on Christmas Day for Alex’s last episode.
