Inmate Housing Decision

Amarillo City inmates will be having a new home but at a higher cost.

City officials have agreed to pay 95 dollars per day, up from $75,

The agreement between the town and county beats a May deadline for a new agreement.

The city council voted to O.K. the agreement Tuesday, and the Reimbursement to Randall County for prisoner transport will also be going up.

Randall County Commissioners had previously approved the plan.
