The Canadian River Municipal Water Authority is saying the Lake Meredeth water levels are holding their own.

Water Authority officials say the lake levels are at a high not seen in the last 20 years

Heavy rains last spring are attributed to bringing a 12-foot increase to the Lake, and recent water scoops from the Lake to help put out the recent Panhandle fires had little to no impact.

Even though Lake Meredith is in good condition at present, the Authority still has concerns about salt levels and evaporation.

Authority officials say evaporation will continue to be an enemy, and evaporation leads to three more than they pump out of the lake right now.

Lake Meredith in 2013, had an all-time low of 26 feet of water and now its considered at a good level, compared to the last 23 years.
